Epidemiology of chicken pox part-1

📘📗 আজকে যে বিষয় নিয়ে কথা বলা হবে, সেটা হল
Chicken pox।৷ এটা আমাদের দেশে জল বসন্ত বা পানি বসন্ত নামে পরিচিত। এখন আমরা chicken pox বা জল বসন্ত নিয়ে জানব (part-1)

🚩 Chicken pox হল সাধারণত সংক্রামক রোগ বা অনেকে ছোঁয়াচে রোগ বলে থাকে।

📚Chicken pox Varicella
Zoster virus দ্বারা হয়ে থাকে।

🚩Chicken pox কিভাবে এসেছে?

• 16th century তে Chicken pox সম্পর্কে সর্বপ্রথম বর্ণনা করেন Giovanni Filippo.
• ১৯৭২ সালে সর্বপ্রথম Dr. Michiaki Takahashi chicken pox এর vaccine আবিষ্কার করেন। যার নাম হল varicella vaccine।
• সাধারনত chicken pox দেখতে chickpeas এর মতো।

🚩🚩কাদের Chicken pox হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা বেশি?

• যারা এই ভাইরাস দ্বারা আগে আক্রান্ত কখনো হয়নি।

• যাদের এই ভাইরাস এর vaccine দেয়া হয়নি।

• যাদের এই ভাইরাসে সংক্রমিত মানুষের সংস্পর্শে আসে।
• যাদের Previously Virus দ্বারা infected হয়নি। Epidemiological feature:

1/ Occurrence : Chicken pox সব দেশেই হয়ে থাকে। এছাড়াও প্রতি বছর chicken pox এর কারণে প্রায় ৬৪০০জন মানুষ আক্রান্ত হয়ে মারা যায়। সাধারণত গ্রীষ্ম প্রধান দেশে প্রাথমিক ভাবে বাচ্চাদের বেশি হয়ে থাকে। আবার শীত এবং বসন্তকালীন সময়ে এটি আমরা দেখে থাকি। তবে, Tropical area তে সাধারণত বয়স্ক মানুষের বেশি হয়ে থাকে।

2/ Agent: Chicken pox এর agent এর নাম হল Varicella Zoster

3/ Reservoir/Host : chicken pox এর reservoir /host হল Man.

4/ Mode of Transmission : Chicken pox /varicella zost ভাইরাস, এটা (person to person) অর্থাৎ মানুষের মাধ্যমে ছড়ায়। সুতরাং হাচি, কাশি,(Breathing) নিঃশ্বাস এর মাধ্যমে ছড়ায়।

🚩🚩এছাড়াও এটা Direct contact, Air Borne এর মাধ্যমেও ছড়ায়।

5/ Incubation Period: (2-3) weeks Average: 14-16 days

🚩 প্রাথমিকভাবে যখন কেউ infection হয় তখন ভাইরাস টা সুপ্ত অবস্থায় sensory nerve ganglia তে অবস্থান করে। এমনকি এটা পরে reactivate হয় । পরে Herpes zoster ( shingles) এ পরিণত হয়।

🚩Skin rash হওয়ার ১-২দিন আগে জ্বর, অস্থিরতা বেড়ে যায়। বিশেষ করে adults দের।

🚩Complication of chicken pox :

Chicken pox সাধারণত সব বয়সের মানুষের জন্য ক্ষতিকারক।তবে যাদের জন্য সবচেয়ে বেশি ক্ষতিকারক তারা হলঃ

• Infants

• Adolescents

• pregnant women

• people with weakened immune system because of illness or medication for example

★people with HIV/AIDS or cancer

★patients who have had transplants

★People on chemotherapy, immunosuppressive medications, or long-term use of steroids

Serious complication from chicken pox :

• Haemorrhage

• pneumonia(Infection of the lungs)

• Encephalitis, Acute cerebral ataxia

• Reye’s Syndrome ( Acute encephalopathy associated & fatty degeneration of viscera especially liver)

• oncogenecity

• skin infection
• septicemia

• septic arthritis

• Bacterial infections of the skin and soft tissues in children, including Group A streptococcal infections

• Bleeding problems (hemorrhagic complications)

• Bloodstream infections (sepsis)

• Dehydration

🚩🚩Symtomps of chicken pox :

Chicken pox এ সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ লক্ষন হল skin rash হয়ে যাবে। এবং পরে skin itcy (ফাটা ফাটা ভাব), fluid -filled blister (গুটি, ফুসকুড়ি), scabs ( খোস, পাবড়া) হয়ে থাকে। এই rash গুলো প্রথমে বুকে, পিঠে এবং মুখে, পরে সারা শরীরে ছড়িয়ে পরে।এমনকি চোখের আশেপাশে genital area তে দেখা যায়।

সাধারণত ১০-২১ দিনের মধ্যে chicken pox er লক্ষনগুলো প্রকাশ পায়। যেমন:

★ Body aches

★Fever

★Feeling extremely tried ( fatigue)

★Feeling Irritable

★Headache

🚩🚩Chicken pox এর জটিলতায় / complication এর কারণে অনেক মানুষ অসুস্থতা বোধ করেন। সেজন্য অবশ্যই আক্রান্ত হওয়া মানুষকে যথাসম্ভব hospitalization করা প্রয়োজন। এর কারণ মানুষকে মৃত্যুর দিকে ঠেলে দেয়।
